OCEAN FALL PROGRAMS
Ocean athletes are grouped by birth year. Programs are designed to be fun and to foster a lifelong interest in fitness. Although we are a competitive club, and athletics (track & field and cross country) is a legitimate sport, members are not required to compete. However, we encourage and support competition because it’s fun and a great way to demonstrate the hard work our athletes do.
PROGRAMS:
SEAHORSE (2 years) - Turning 7 or 8 in the calendar year (FULL - NO WAITLIST)
JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT (4 years) - Turning 9 to 12 in the calendar year.
HIGH SCHOOL PLUS - Turning 13 to 34 in the calendar year.
Please see program descriptions below. See SCHEDULE
CONSIDERATIONS
Being successful in athletics takes commitment, time and effort. Athletes that attend 2-3 training sessions per week achieve the best results and enjoy the most value from their membership. Our most successful athletes (provincial and national team members) attend training consistently in all safe weather conditions. Ultimately, being successful requires athletes (of all ages) to get comfortable being uncomfortable. Although we recognize that not all our athletes have the same skills, we require all of them to give their best effort at each session.
ALL OCEAN ATHLETES ARE EXPECTED TO:
Be ready to start training on time (recommend arriving 10 minutes early).
Listen to coaches and follow instructions.
Give their best effort during each training session.
Be a good team member by being positive and encouraging others.
Manage themselves appropriately in a structured training environment.
Athletes that do not meet these expectations may not be a good fit for Ocean Athletics programs.
