    FALL TRAINING SCHEDULE HERE

    *Confirmed by 12:00pm on Training Day.

    IMPORTANT: Athletes must come dressed for the weather. If athletes arrive unprepared, Ocean coaches may send athletes home immediately. In cold and/or wet conditions, a toque, gloves, mitts, pants and a jacket are essential.

    ***EXTREME WEATHER WARNING*** Ocean athletes train in all safe weather conditions. When training is cancelled, notices are posted here. Evening training sessions are cancelled by 12 noon on training day. Saturday morning training is cancelled by 5:00pm on Friday. Emailed cancellation notices are only sent if the decision to cancel is made after the notice deadline. Please do not go to the track without confirming training is on.

  • MEASURING PROGRESS. Although it's our mission to make fitness fun, it's not always just fun and games. Track & field is a competitive sport and our focus is to help our athletes get faster and stronger. Our programs are age group appropriate and are designed to gradually improve fitness, strength, flexibility and coordination. Athletes that consistently attend training and participate will see significant improvement through the year. To measure this improvement, we have developed a monthly performance test for all Junior Development (JD) athletes (2015-2011). On the last Monday each month, all JD groups will complete these exercises.

    FOR JANUARY & FEBRUARY:

    • Standing Long Jump

    • Timed Plank

    • 600m Run

    FOR MARCH - JULY, ADD:

    • Standing Box Jump

    • 100m

    FOR SEPTEMBER - NOVEMBER:

    • Standing Long Jump

    • Timed Plank

    • 600m Run

    EXERCISES MEASURED AND RECORDED. Although most of our athletes are competitive, this is not meant to be a competition. The purpose is to track improvement and provide positive feedback to our athletes.
